It locks the apps you choose and shows a short quiz when you open one. Pass the quiz and the app opens for the time you set, then locks again on its own. It is friction against the reflex tap, not a wall.

Screen Time (Family Controls) is the only way iOS lets an app block another app; MindLock uses it to show the shield and to open apps after a passed quiz. Notifications are how the quiz reaches you when you tap “Start quiz” on the shield. Both are asked for during onboarding and can be changed later in iOS Settings.

No. There is no sign-up, no email, no password. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID through the App Store.

iPhone with iOS 17 or later. The Dynamic Island timer needs an iPhone with a Dynamic Island; on other models the timer shows on the Lock Screen.

Up to 5 apps per lock group, and you can create several groups with different difficulties and themes. An app can belong to only one group at a time.

Easy, Medium and Hard change the number of questions, the time per question and how many you need right. Extreme (Pro) raises the bar further. Perfect Run (Pro) ends the attempt on the first mistake.

The app stays locked and a cooldown starts before you can retry. The cooldown length depends on the difficulty. Emergency unlocks still work during a cooldown.

Yes, up to 5 themes per lock. Math and Logic are free; the rest are part of Pro. “Random” draws from every theme. New themes appear in the app automatically, no update needed.

You set it per lock group: from 30 minutes to 3 hours. When the time is up, the lock returns by itself, even if MindLock is closed.

A no-quiz bypass for the moments you genuinely need the app: 10 minutes, up to 3 times a day. Each use adds one extra question to your next quiz.

A Live Activity that counts down the current unlock. Tap it to open MindLock and relock early. You can turn Live Activity notifications on or off in MindLock’s Settings tab.

Open MindLock once; it clears finished timers on launch. The app is already locked again either way.

Open the Pro screen in MindLock and tap “Restore purchase”. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID that made the purchase. If it still does not work, email us with the App Store receipt.

Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, find the purchase and request a refund.

No. Apple’s Screen Time framework gives MindLock opaque tokens for the apps you lock; the names never reach us and stay on your device. The usage report in Metrics is rendered by an Apple-sandboxed extension that cannot send data anywhere.

An anonymous installation ID, a push token for the timers, your purchase status via RevenueCat and anonymous usage counters such as “a quiz was passed”. Full details in the Privacy Policy.

Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. To have the anonymous server record for your installation removed too, email us.

Open MindLock; it re-applies locks on every launch. If it still does not appear, check that Screen Time access is granted: iOS Settings → Screen Time, and that the app is listed in a lock group.

Notifications are off. Turn them on in iOS Settings → Notifications → MindLock, or open MindLock and start the quiz from the group card.

Some theme and difficulty combinations are still being filled. Pick another theme or difficulty, or add “Random”.
